    Book Club News
    Our next meeting of our Book Club will be Monday, November 24th at 7 PM in St. Francis Hall. We will be discussing the book “Same Kind of Different As Me” by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. All are invited to the discussion of this interesting book.

    Have You Recently Lost Your Job? Are you under-employed?
    Do the economy and the current job market leave you feeling uncertain about the future? Sacred Heart will be hosting a small informal gathering to process the emotional issues associated with these stressors and to explore various coping mechanisms. The meeting will be facilitated by a licensed psychotherapist in the St. Francis room of the parish hall on Wednesday, December 3, at 7:00 PM. Bring a friend.

    First Friday Business Persons’ Forum
    Friday, December 5th at 7:30 AM in the St. Francis Hall will be the next meeting of our Business Persons’ Forum. The topic will be “Coping with Holiday Stress.” All are invited to this one hour gathering which features prayer, a topic for input and discussion and a continental breakfast. All are invited. (Corner of Twiggs and Marion Streets)

    University of Tampa Dinner & Mass
    Sunday, December 7th at 7 PM is the next dinner for University of Tampa students and staff. The dinner begins after the 6 PM Mass in St. Francis Hall and is free. Mass will be celebrated on campus at the University of Tampa on Monday, December 8th at 12 noon for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, a holyday. The Mass will be celebrated in the lounge of Brevard Hall.

    The 22nd Annual Family Christmas Festival
    The 22nd Annual Family Christmas Festival will again be hosted by Sacred Heart Church. The Concert, which features the University of Tampa Collegiate Chorale, the Women’s Glee Club and the University of Tampa Orchestra, is a long standing Christmas tradition among Tampa families. Everyone in the family enjoys the concert, particularly the fun- filled finale when everyone is invited to join in an old fashioned sing-along with the choral ensembles, the orchestra and the organ. The concert, to be held on Sunday, December 7th begins at 3:00 PM and is a perfect way to usher in the holiday season. Admission is free. Early seating is advised.

    Catholic High School Open Houses
    Jesuit High School will hold their Prospective Student Open House and Tour on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 7:00 PM in the St. Anthony Chapel. Admission Testing will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2008, for the 2009-2010 School Year, beginning at 8:00 AM in the Administration Building.     Women’s Guild Christmas Brunch
    All parishioners are invited to attend the Annual Christmas Brunch given by the SHCCW (Guild). The luncheon will be held at Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club on Sunday, December 14. It will begin with social hour at 12:30 PM followed by Brunch at 1:00 PM. The cost is $30.00 per person. For an afternoon filled with caroling, entertainment, prizes and more--come and support our Sacred Heart Council of Catholic Women! Reservations deadline is December 8.
