Aiding those Ailing | GFTH November 2026

Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me. Then the God of peace will be with you.” | Philippians 4:9

We are a few weeks away from your next chance to help address the needs of our community! Giving from the Heart returns on Saturday, November 14 as volunteers from Open Doors and Faith Community Nursing will be at the North Campus from 9 to 11 a.m. ready to receive your donations in support of EPIC, which cares for those suffering from chronic, advanced and terminal illnesses and the grief associate, and the Tampa Hope Homeless Shelter.

With needs for these beneficiaries as big as they are, it is important for our parish to get donated items in as early as they can, especially through our Amazon Wishlist.

Empath’s EPIC at Francis House | Empath and Francis House in Tampa have merged as a new organization called EPIC (Empath Partners in Care) under the Empath Health nonprofit network. As two trusted, leading nonprofit providers, they have served and supported our communities infected or affected by HIV/AIDS for decades. Donations to Empath EPIC and Francis House strengthens and extends their depth of care, support programs and prevention services to growing numbers of people impacted and in need throughout the Tampa Bay region, and assists in their mission to provide patients with the care and support they need to live healthy, self-sufficient lives.

Tampa Hope | The Tampa Hope Homeless Shelter Tampa Hope is a Catholic Charities operated shelter presently serving up to 335 homeless adults with plans to expand. Their goal is to assist these women and men in achieving permanent housing and self-sufficiency in a 120 day time span. To do so, Tampa Hope provides the following basic assistance in addition to shelter: three meals a day, toiletries (hygiene items), clothing, access to restrooms, showers and laundry facilities

Additionally, we have outreach specialists who locate homeless to bring them to shelter. Case managers and housing specialists help clients navigate services to obtain permanent housing, including basic health and dental care, mental health and substance abuse counseling, employment skills and assistance, education assistance, and more (e.g., financial literacy training).
