The Cantor helps lead the congregation in song, encouraging the community to join our voices in worship. He or she helps us connect the Liturgy and the Word of God through music, enriching our spiritual connection and helping to elevate the celebration.
If you have a passion and talent for singing, and enjoy participating more fully in the Mass, you might want to consider becoming one of our Cantors.
- Time Commitment: Once a week, practice with the choir. Once a week at Mass, as your schedule allows, lead the congregation in song.
- Responsibilities: Lead the congregation in song during Mass. Must have a familiarity with church music and the songs you will lead, as well as attend practice sessions.
- Training: Practice sessions are held weekly, as well as additional sessions throughout the year for liturgical seasons.
