Sacred Heart Catholic Church’s Loving Hearts in the Name of Christ is a ministry connecting the parish to service opportunities with Love INC of Metro Tampa, a partner nonprofit whose mission is to mobilize Christian churches and their members to transform lives through outreach volunteer service. Through Love INC, churches work together, across denominational lines, to provide coordinated help to struggling neighbors with basic needs such as food/clothing, to longer-term responses such as life skills training and transitional housing programs.
If you want an opportunity to offer care and compassion to our neighbors in need, along with meaningful action beyond a simple handout, or if you want to explore knowing and being in a relationship with the guests we serve, then this ministry could be for you. Come join us!
- Time Commitment: Varies depending on how you choose to get involved.
- Responsibilities: Varies from resource coordinator to answering phones, assembling monthly newsletters, data entry, or other relevant office tasks.
- Training: Offered for all volunteers, it includes monthly training and shadowing of an experienced volunteer until you feel ready to serve on your own.
