Parking at Sacred Heart

Madison Building Parking Update: Beginning the weekend of April 11-12, 2026, parking for all weekend Masses will be free for parishioners and Mass attendees in the adjacent Madison Building Garage.

You must take a ticket upon entry, and have your ticket validated by an usher with a sticker or stamp at Mass.

To receive a ticket from the automated machine, drivers are asked to leave a space for the unit to reset between cars when approaching. Push the button on the machine to receive a ticket, and be sure to bring it to Mass. If you cannot receive a ticket from the machine, please seek assistance from the parking attendant on the garage’s second floor. Your parking validation covers your Mass attendance only, including a 30-minute range before and after the Mass you attend.

Should you choose to utilize the Madison Building Garage on weekdays, the standard hourly/daily rates will apply ($3 for the first hour, $2 for each subsequent hour).

Parishioners are encouraged to treat the Madison Building Garage attendants with courtesy and kindness. Failure to do so may result in your inability to utilize this gifted resource.

The clergy and staff thank the Madison Building Management for their neighborliness and the assistance they have provided to our parish over the years.

**Those that overstay the parking window may be subject to paying the weekend rate of $20 per day. Sacred Heart is not responsible for any charges related to overstaying the allotted time window for parking for Mass attendance or related events.**

On-Street Parking
The City of Tampa recently made an adjustment to the hours of operation for on-street parking throughout downtown. Spaces are now enforced from the hours of 8 a.m. to midnight, Monday-Saturday, and Sunday’s from 2 p.m.-midnight. These spaces are enforced on nights, weekends, and holidays.

Please note: The non-enforcement hours on Sunday do not apply to all meters throughout the city, but only to those meters considered within the “church zone.” The zone is typically “north of E. Kennedy Blvd. and south of E. Cass St., east of N. Franklin St. and west of N. Morgan St.” This zone only applies during the special hours on Sunday and not during the week or other special liturgical celebrations such as Ash Wednesday or Holy Thursday. The City of Tampa street level stations both inside and out of the church zone typically charge $3.50 per hour, accepting payment via the Parkmobile, Passport, Flowbird, and Pay By Phone mobile payment apps.

Special Announcement: 717 Parking Lots
Due to the tremendous growth in downtown Tampa, 717 Parking is no longer able to continue its long-standing relationship with Sacred Heart for parking in either of its nearby lots (across the street from the church or at the corner of N. Florida Ave. and E. Kennedy Blvd.) If you choose to park in these lots, please pay the posted parking fee. If you plan to regularly park there for convenience, consider downloading their parking app to avoid the lines at the kiosk. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We thank 717 Parking for their partnership.

Additional Parking Considerations:

  • The median of the bus parkway on Marion St. is not a legal area for parking. You may be ticketed, and there are safety concerns for you, your passengers, and the buses using the parkway.
  • The parking lot at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church is for their members only. Please do not park there.
