Holy Week is a journey into the Heart of the Gospel. It is at the center of our Christian Faith. If you’ve never attended the events of Holy Week, here’s a little bit more about them. View photo galleries from our 2024 Holy Week Masses from the menu options below:

Lent is a 40 day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday. It’s a period of preparation to celebrate the Lord’s Resurrection at Easter. During Lent, we seek the Lord in prayer by reading Sacred Scripture; we serve by giving alms; and we practice self-control through fasting. We are called not only to abstain from luxuries during Lent, but to a true inner conversion of heart as we seek to follow Christ’s will more faithfully. We recall the waters of baptism in which we were also baptized into Christ’s death, died to sin and evil, and began new life in Christ. (Text: USCCB)

Lent offers us the opportunity to prepare our hearts for Easter and deepen our relationship with God through prayer, self-examination and repentance. Many people observe Lent by giving something up – social media, a favorite snack or beverage, eating out – to emulate Christ’s obedience to the Father. While this is a meaningful practice, our friars’ brothers from Our Lady of Guadalupe Province have compiled suggestions to help make the Lenten season a time of spiritual and personal growth. Click the photo above to view their list.

Every Easter, parishioners donate flowers in the memory of their loved ones to assist the parish in decorating the sanctuary for our celebration of the Risen Lord. In addition to the donated flowers adorning the sanctuary, the names of those we remember will be added to a digital memorial that will be available on the parish website throughout the Easter season.

Easter flower order forms are available in the back of the church, or online by following this link: Easter Flower Order Forms.

Order forms are due at noon on Friday, April 11, 2025.

Jesus’ journey to Calvary is stunningly depicted in 14 bas relief sculptures that encircle the nave and transepts of the church. This Lent, parishioners, visitors, and Jubilee pilgrims will have the opportunity to pray the Stations of the Cross at any time outside of Mass, with a digital guide available to help you follow along with this special seasonal devotion. Posters featuring the link and QR code for the prayer guide will be visible near the entrances to the church. A limited set of booklets will be available as well, for those who can not access the digital prayer guide. This self-guided opportunity will take the place of the weekly prayer sessions previously held on Friday evenings during Lent. You can also access the guide here.

Those attending Mass on Easter Sunday are welcome to park in the neighboring Madison Building garage free of charge, as a courtesy to our parish and parishioners. Do not take a parking ticket upon entry. You must provide the attendant proof of Mass attendance by showing a copy of the Easter bulletin upon exit. Street level parking within the City of Tampa’s “church zone” also remains a free option on Easter Sunday.

There are no free parking options available for Holy Thursday, Good Friday, or Holy Saturday (Easter Vigil). Should you choose to utilize the Madison Building garage on Thursday or Friday, the standard hourly/daily rates will apply. For Holy Saturday (Easter Vigil), the normal weekend discounted Mass attendee rate will apply. Be sure to ask an usher for a validation sticker (green) to add to your parking ticket to ensure you receive the discounted rate.

We thank our friends at the Madison Building for making our celebrations of Easter that much more convenient for our parishioners.
